About Jordan Ogle

Jordan Ogle is a Ph.D. student in English literature specializing in 20th century American poetry and culture and psychoanalytic theory.

Prior to coming to Indiana University, he received his B.A. in English literature from Wabash College in 2019 and his M.A. in literary criticism and theory from the University of Exeter, where he studied as a US-UK Fulbright Fellow, in 2020. His master’s thesis, “He envies the bodies, He who has no body: Divinity, Desire and the Body on Display in Anne Sexton’s Poetry,” examines the pivot away from the Eliotic figuration of the poet in mid-century America and the emergence of the poet-celebrity through the life and work of Anne Sexton.
