Hrishita Chatterjee (Rish) (she/they) is a second year PhD student in the Department of English at Indiana University Bloomington. Her interests are in queer autobiographical studies and memoirs.
She graduated from Lady Brabourne College in Kolkata and pursued her Master's at The English and Foreign Languages University in Hyderabad.
In IU Bloomington, she predominantly works with contemporary memoirs and life narratives, postcolonial studies, gender studies as well as performance studies. Her interests are in Indian as well as American memoirs that talk about the subjecthood of the subaltern as well as the marginalized queer. She works with different genre and moods in memoir studies spanning across India and America. Her favorite autobiography writers are Maggie Nelson, A. Revathi, Audre Lorde, Eli Clare, Living Smile Vidya and many more.
